      Description

The steering wheel paddleshifter kit for BMW M3 SMG

Not everyone likes the automatic transmission, because the car enthusiast usually doesn’t like the automatic transmission even if it offers lightning-fast gear changes.

Not for us. We like BMW automatic transmissions – they are very comfortable in the city and effective on the racetrack.

We have improved the shifting feel and the aesthetic aspect: our steering wheel gearbox is made of machined aluminum from solid bar.

Our steering wheel paddleshifter kit for BMW M3 SMG is integrated with a modified steering wheel spacer, allowing the use with the original steering wheel, retaining the airbag and the steering wheel buttons.

The original paddle shifters will have to be removed, but the steering wheel controls and airbag can be retained.

The steering wheel shifter is supplied pre-assembled and already with the wiring harness that interfaces with the original connector coming from the car.

The installation can be done by non-professionals too and takes about half an hour.

The metal frame of the paddleshifter has the electronic part embedded and hidden inside.

The levers actuates 2 microswitches (for upshift and downshift), connected to a wiring harness that replicates the original electronics, linked to 2-pin OEM matching connector, to ensure an plug and play connection with the car, without the need to carry out electronic operations.

      Installation procedure:

      • Disconnect the battery
      • Remove the airbag from the steering wheel
      • Disconnect the connectors that go from the steering wheel to the clockspring on the steering column.
      • Unscrew the central screw and pull out the steering wheel
      • Insert the kit, which is pre-assembled, into the steering column shaft and connect its connector to the matching one coming from the car
      • Slide the steering wheel into the spacer’s shaft and connect the steering wheel wires to the car
      • insert the long center screw included in the kit and tighten it to 60 Nm
      • Re-insert the airbag in the steering wheel
      • Re-connect the battery
      • enjoy
