BMW Steering wheel adapter narrow to big spline

A steering wheel adapter makes possible to fit a BMW steering wheel originally manufactured for a different model, and which cannot be fitted directly because of different attachment.

In this version we offer the adapter to mount the BMW 1 Series, 2, 3, 4 steering wheel, built by BMW factory with narrow steering shaft, on the 5, 6 and 7 series, equipped with larger diameter steering shaft.

Upgrading a non-M steering wheel on the 5, 6 and 7 series can be a serious issue because people struggle to find a used M steering wheel with wider bore, because the one in the 5, 6 and 7 series is much rarer, and therefore expensive. While the 3-spoke M-Performance steering wheel of the 1, 2, 3, 4 series is much more widespread and cheaper.

The 2 steering wheels look the same when mounted on the machine, but they are different inside.

How are they different? Only in the center hole. The steering wheels of the smaller BMW series, up to the 4 Series, have a central hole with a smaller 18 mm diameter splined bore, while the steering wheels from 5 to 8 series BMW have a central bore with a larger 20 mm diameter.

We have used our experience in the machining process of the splined bore / shaft to build an adapter that allows you to mount the 3-spoke steering wheels of the 1, 2, 3, 4 series on the 5, 6, 7 series.

All you have to do is buy, for example on ebay or second-hand marketplaces, any M performance 3-spoke steering wheel from the 1 F20, 2 F22, 3 F30, 4 F80 series  and with our adapter you can mount it on your 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 series, without the need to make annoying and expensive modifications to your car.

The installation of the adapter is simple and reversible, in case you want to disassemble from the car everything goes back to the way it was before.

There is no need for coding after installation.
