The steering wheel spacer is a kit that improves the cars’ driving position.
The steering wheel spacer for Alfa Romeo 156 GTA brings the steering wheel 2″ (5 cm) closer to the driver to improve the driving position, and is the evolution of the traditional collapsible hub for aftermarket steering wheels.

Until now, to bring closer to the driver the steering wheel of a vehicle that does not have depth adjustment, you could only remove the OEM steering wheel and replace it with an aftermarket one, and a specific adaptor was needed to install the aftermarket steering wheel.
Until the 1980s and early 1990s, this was a good solution, but since steering wheels have airbags and steering wheel controls, having to give up these accessories to bring the steering wheel closer had become an unacceptable compromise.
This turns that sooner or later, the owner changes the car with one equipped with fully adjustable steering wheel from factory. With the Spacershop steering wheel spacer, this is no longer necessary: you can bring the car’s OEM steering wheel closer and thus keep the airbag and steering wheel controls active.
The instasllation of the spacer is simple and reversible, in case you want to remove it from the car, everything returns as before.
