Until now, to approach the steering wheel in a vehicle that does not have depth adjustment, one could only remove the standard steering wheel and replace it with an aftermarket one.
The collapsible steering wheel hub was needed to install a goblet steering wheel.
Until the 1980s and early 1990s, this was a good solution, but since steering wheels haveairbags and steering wheel controls, having to give up these accessories to bring the steering wheel closer had become an unacceptable compromise. Eventually what happens is that one changes the car to one with an adjustable steering wheel.
With the Spacershop steering wheel spacer, this is no longer necessary-you can bring the car’s stock steering wheel closer and thus keep the airbag and steering wheel controls active.

The video was shot on a 3 Series E92, and it’s also good for the Z4 E89 because the spacer on the steering wheel is the same for both, because the inside of the steering wheel is the same in the two cars.
Since many BMWs from the same years of production share many mechanical details and components that are “hidden” from the driver’s view, we have developed a spacer that can be interchangeable across multiple BMW models.
