Until now, to approach the steering wheel in a vehicle that does not have depth adjustment, one could only remove the standard steering wheel and replace it with an aftermarket one.
The collapsible steering wheel hub was needed to install a goblet steering wheel.
Until the 80s and early 90s, this was a good solution, but since steering wheels have airbags and steering wheel controls, having to give up these accessories to bring the steering wheel closer had become an unacceptable compromise. Eventually what happens is that one changes the car to one with an adjustable steering wheel.
With the Spacershop steering wheel spacer, this is no longer necessary: you can bring the car’s stock steering wheel closer together and thus keep the airbag and steering wheel controls active.
Mounting the spacer is simple and reversible, in case you want to remove it from the car everything goes back as before.
