The brackets for lowering the Sabelt seats of the 500 Abarth are bent sheet steel supports and are used to lower the entire seat by 2 cm in a fixed way, and improve the driving position.
Read our article on the driving position
The driving position is important: an experienced driver immediately senses when a car hasperfect ergonomics and when it lacks something. There is the same difference between a pair of comfortable and well-made shoes and others of poor quality that hurt your feet.
In addition, although there are many standard adjustments that satisfy most riders, they may not cover all the physical variability of people. Some people are very tall, or some have long legs and short arms, and all of this is reflected in the feeling of comfort and control of the car when sitting behind the wheel. It can also become a compelling need.
The assembly instructions for the brackets to lower the Sabelt seats of your Abarth 595
PLEASE NOTE: When assembling, you must bend the release lever a little, otherwise the seat will no longer go back and forth. This is because the original left-hand lever is different from the right-hand side and after the right seat is lowered, pulling the lever up touches the seat before unlocking the seat.
See the photos above to see how to change the lever.
