The instructions for fitting the spacer on the steering wheel of your Skoda
The steering wheel spacer is a kit that improves the driving position of cars. It represents the updated version of the collapsible hub: it is like a goblet steering wheel hub, but on which you can install the standard steering wheel of the car, with its airbag and steering wheel controls.
The same steering wheel spacer is fitted to all Skodas from the early 2000s to the present. Skoda has been part of the Volkswagen Group for more than 20 years, and many mechanical components are shared. They can be entire motors, doors or simple switches, but the same component can be mounted on one or the other machine. This also applies to steering columns and the internal parts of the steering wheels.
The steering wheels all have an aluminum “skeleton” to which the crown and plastic parts are glued . It is this skeleton that supports the mechanical effort of steering and mates with the spacer on the steering wheel. So the same spacer can be mounted on Seat and Volkswagen, as well as on Skoda and Audi.
The assembly of the spacer is simple and reversible, in case you want to disassemble from the car everything goes back to the way it was before.
