The steering wheel spacer assembly instructions for your classic Porsche 911
The steering wheel spacer is a kit that improves the driving position of cars. It represents the updated version of the collapsible hub: it is like a goblet steering wheel hub, but on which you can install the standard steering wheel of the car, with its airbag and steering wheel controls.
Until 1989, Porsche 911s were produced with a steering wheel without an airbag. After requests from many Porsche enthusiasts who wanted to improve the driving position, we also created the version of the steering wheel spacer for vintage Porsches.
You can now enjoy the benefit of the steering wheel spacer and keep the original Porsche vintage steering wheel. Porsche AG itself produced a steering wheel spacer made like this, which has now become unobtainable.
The installation procedure is much simpler because you no longer have to remove the airbag from the steering wheel. Simply remove the shell that you press to operate the horn.
