Aluminium steering wheel shift kit for Porsche 996 with Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Let’s face it: not everyone likes the Tiptronic gearbox. Because the car enthusiast usually doesn’t like the automatic transmission, and the Tiptronic gearbox is considered slow and inadequate for the nature of the car.

But it can be improved: the shifting feel and the aesthetic aspect. The plastic buttons already present on the original steering wheel are just simple buttons, so we designed this kit to give the shifting a more “mechanical” feel .

The aluminium-to-aluminium contact generates the mechanical feeling of shifting, combined with magnets that work as return springs. The magnets can even be changed to give greater resistance to pressure and give a harder or softer feeling of the shifting, according to your taste.

Inside the load-bearing structure of the gearbox is hidden the electronic part that guarantees its operation. The levers operate 2 microswitches, connected to a wiring harness that replicates the original electronics.

The kit is compatible with all commercially available goblet steering wheel hubs and goblet steering wheels . It is installed in an intermediate position between the hub and the steering wheel.

This product is the same steering wheel gearbox that we supply to race, rally or track car teams. The kit is designed and manufactured in Italy.

The gearbox is fitted to all versions of the Porsche 996 and 986 with Tiptronic transmission.
