Find out all the details about the steering wheel spacer compatible with Porsche cars.
The steering wheel spacer for Porsche is an accessory that brings the steering wheel 5 cm closer in addition to the normal adjustment, allowing it to match the driving position of Porsches used in racing.
Installing the spacer allows you to move the seat back a little and gain legroom, and to enjoy a more intimate driving position on the steering wheel but at the same time more relaxed on the seat and with more comfortable legs.
The advantage can be felt even before you start the engine.
In addition, it is the ideal solution for:
The spacer (and also the adapters) can be installed on all versions of Porsche from the 80s onwards, and can be mounted on any combination of trim, engine and gearbox.
If the car has the Tiptronic gearbox with the buttons on the steering wheel or the PDK with the paddles, these will continue to work as before.
The spacer is very robust and guaranteed for life. It is built with the same materials that car manufacturers use to build steering wheels and pillars, and like them it does not require any maintenance or replacement.
We manufacture steering wheel spacers and steering wheel adapters for the following models of the German car manufacturer:
Adapters for new steering wheels on older cars: NOTE: Airbags and steering wheel controls will not work.
On Porsches, we developed the first adapter. The need arose on our 996 Turbo: we brought the steering wheel closer and we were like God, but then we saw the new 3-spoke steering wheel available on the 991 and Macan, then on all Porsches of that generation.
Our experience in the machining of ribbed ribs has allowed us to make an adapter from the narrow column of the 996 to the 26 mm wide one of the Porsches from the 997 series onwards.
This allows you to update the look of older Porsches with the new steering wheel, which is so beautiful and timeless in design that it is also at home on the Porsche 993.
At that point we got “carried away” and developed the adapter for the Porsche 964 and the contemporary 928 and 968 as well.
There are 3 physically produced models, each of which covers several models that were on the market in the same years.
A spacer is mounted without variation on the 964, 968, 928, 944 and 959.
Another on the newer 993, Boxster 986 and 996, and on the Carrera GT.
The latest one is mounted unchanged on almost twenty years of Porsche production: from the 997 and Boxster 987 to today (2022). All Porsches, including the Macan, Panamera and Cayenne, are fitted with the exact same spacer, because the steering column has never been changed and so has the interior of the Porsche steering wheel.
For ease of purchase, we have divided the products by dedicating its own product sheet to each model, so as to better address those interested in their own Porsche model.

Steering wheel spacer for Porsche Boxster 986.
It adds 6 cm to the already existing depth adjustment, which is only 2 centimeters and does not meet the expectations of tall riders and those who are used to riding sporty, on the track and off. It is the perfect solution for those who want to bring the steering wheel closer to the driver without using the goblet steering wheel, and having to do without the airbag. The assembly of the spacer is simple and reversible, in case you want to disassemble from the car everything goes back to the way it was before. The airbag and Tiptronic shift buttons (if fitted) remain active.
